Hi Everyone!

Dubrovnik was amazing. Great views of the city, good food, very friendly people.

I first went to the nearby Lokrum island to get some good clips of views across to the city and to explore. Lots of outside scenes for Game of Thrones were shot on this island and that TV show has become a major part of tourism in Dubrovnik and on this island. The island had a nude beach but nude only - if you had clothes on you weren't allowed to go and creep on people. From my brief observations there were only some walruses lazing about anyway, so I didn't feel like I was missing out ;).

There were some cool caves on this island, oh and they also had the iron throne from game of thrones which was actually really cool for a nerd like me.

I walked the perimeter wall around the city and went up to the top of the mountain to get some good shots. I thought I would be clever and deviate from the main path to find a little secluded spot to get some drone shots - which I did, but it was very tricky to get down from there back to the path. I had some regrets and maybe 1 or 2 scary spots, but I made it more or less unscathed.

Beautiful city - breathtaking really.

Highlights maybe not captured in the video:

• This one is a low light. Tourists stumbling around almost aimlessly are really starting to mess with my groove. Pick a direction? no? How about make some eye contact so we can sort our who is going left and who is going right? no? Ok just stumble along at a snail speed. The rest of us don't have anything else to do today. lol. I am going to places yet like Rome and I am aware this is only going to get worse.

• My hostel was right in the heart of the old town and right next to the local grocery store - I was very content where I was. Nothing was more than a 5 minute walk away.

• I really have come to enjoy pushing and motivating myself to climb up the tall hill or go see that thing over there - so far it has ALWAYS been worth it and I feel so good afterwards for choosing to do it.
  

Off to the city of Split next and then onward back toward Germany and Bavaria.
