Hi Everyone,
This one is a bit shorter than the last two. I've mostly been travelling. Went from London to Lille, France. Rented a car, 2-door Fiat standard transmission - just my size ;). Took the car to see Vimy Ridge and Tyne Cot Cemetery. It was very moving to stand in those places and to take it all in.
After just one sleep in Lille, I was off on the trains again heading towards Brussels in Belgium. Here now in my Brussels hostel I have the free time to catch you all up and to put together this little video.
Highlights since my last video that may not be fully captured within this next one:
Driving a standard car at 80Kmph = easy peasy. When the speed limit suddenly shot up to 150Kmph, I felt more than uneasy with all the other cars whizzing about me.
Try to avoid the guy in the train line who has white powder all around his nose and, 15 minutes into a very one-way conversation, he picks a large part of his own fingernail right off and the blood just starts flowing... St. Pancras train station security in London doesn't get paid enough.
The decision to go with a 3 month unlimited (1st class) global Eurail pass has already proven to have been a wise one. Not just better seats, but complementary meals (here and there) and lounge access. I also get to be on the upper of train cars that have upper and lower seating.
I'm here in Brussels for 2 sleeps now, then I'm off to Amsterdam!
Talk again soon - Hope everyone is doing alright.
Eric

You are so correct about how moving it is when visiting Vimy Ridge and Tyne Cot Cemetery…we had the privilege to experience these sacred places too…will never forget these experiences ❤️ Thanks for sharing your amazing journey with us 🥰
wow. just. wow. So many nameless gravestones. I'm not crying. You're crying.
I’ll second that. Loving the drone footage. Also, it looks like you’re the only person there😳.
Looking like a really fun and exciting trip. These drone shots are fantastic too. Glad you're enjoying your adventures.
